This pod shape is based on the bagworm cocoon, here in the arid regions of Southern Africa we encounter numerous species of bag worms such as, Kotochalia junodi, a local resident. Cocoons fashioned with grass and sticks, the worm creates a perfect cosy environment to hide from predators.
Our pod shape light was born from this nifty little critter, the pod is created with numerous thin ceramic leaves that is draped on a steel frame. The pod offers a strong sculptural shape in daytime with a beautiful campfire glow and embers during the night. We describe the light like the shadows of a tree canopy.
